This competition is your chance to win a publishing contract.
Everyone who enters this competition will receive feedback on their manuscript. Our reviewing feature is one of our most valuable and sought after services. Here, you can send us your MS for an extremely experienced reviewer to critique your work. We will give you a synopsis and review of your work, providing valuable feedback; we will tell you what does and doesn’t work, allowing you to make changes, if you wish. Our editors will guide you as to what level of edit your work requires, and advise you accordingly.
This is very valuable service to all authors as it allows them to have an unbiased opinion on their work.
Every year one lucky author will receive a contract with Spinetinglers Elite Publishing House.
This contract includes:
Personal Publishing Assistant – When you decide to publish with Spinetinglers you will be assigned a personal publishing assistant who will be available by phone and email to guide you through every step of the publishing process.
Meticulous Edit– This is a full scale edit that will check and correct everything from typos and spelling mistakes to continuity, punctuation, and –grammar: everything you could possibly think of. After the changes have been red-pencilled on your MS, you will receive it to either accept or reject the editor’s suggestions When you have finished going through your work just send the manuscript back to us and it will be edited again, taking your changes into account. The editor will again mark their suggestions on your manuscript. The manuscript is then send back to you again for you to work through. This ensures that you are absolutely and completely happy with the editor’s work.
Your Choice of Font Type and Book Size - You choose what size of book you want, as always your personal publishing assistant will be there to guide you but if you have specific requirements as to font type/size and book size you can chose whatever you want!
ISBN Number – An ISBN number ensures that your book will be available to order in any bookshop.
Book Cover – This is a full book cover, which includes front, back and spine.
Our graphic artist will work with you to design and create a cover just for you. You will be fully involved in the process from start to finish, the cover will be sent to you at various stages during the design process for your input. You have the final approval and if you don’t like the direction they are heading in you can veto the design. This is to ensure that you end up with a cover that you love. Spinetinglers does not use any templates or preset designs for any of our covers. We want everyone who publishes with us to have a unique and eye-catching cover. This is what distinguishes the covers we design from the thousands of standard designs that flood the market everyday.
Extremely High Quality Hardcover and Paperback Editions – All books published by Spinetinglers will use perfect binding. This means that your book will be of the highest quality available to the market. 20 Copies of Your Book – These will be dispatched to you as soon as your book is sent to press.
Ability to Order Extra Copies of Your Book at a Discounted Rate – If you ever need to order more copies of your book, you can order as many, or as few, copies as you require at any one time. You will be able to order them straight from us at cost.
Wholesale Distribution – Notification of web and store-based booksellers via their preferred weekly and daily update reporting system. This ensures that your book has maximum worldwide coverage.
Inclusion in the Ingram Advance Catalogue – This means that your book will be available to order in every major book store and online book retailer, such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble etc.
“Search inside” Feature will be Activated on Amazon – Search Inside!TM is a revolutionary way for publishers/authors to merchandise their titles on Amazon.co.uk. Sample pages are available for customers to read and help them decide to buy the book. This is the virtual equivalent of browsing in a book store. All of this helps you sell more books.
Regular Sales Updates – Spinetinglers will update you as to how many books you have sold at various times throughout the year, and will supply you with a quarterly report. Payment of Royalties on a Regular Basis – Royalty payments will be made on a quarterly/monthly basis, which ever you prefer.
You will also receive Spinetinglers Elite Promotional Package, which includes:
Book Promotion Synopsis – You will be able to use this synopsis for promotional purposes.
Promotional Materials – A minimum of 20 copies, of your book promotion synopsis will be posted to you, on headed Spinetinglers paper. These can be used to advertise your book.
Spinetinglers E-zine Promotional Campaign – Your book will be promoted in a dedicated Spinetinglers e-zine. Your e-zine will include:
• Author bio.
• Author interview
• Synopsis of your book
• Extract
• Cover images
• Live links to where the book can be purchased. Other links can be included at author’s request eg. other works, social networking sites.
• Competition for Spinetinglers members to win free copies
• E-zine will be featured on Spinetinglers Twitter and Facebook – allowing it to be re-tweeted and shared with non-Spinetinglers members. The e-zine will also be included in the news section of both Spinetinglers sites.
Press Release Campaign – Spinetinglers will initiate an online viral marketing campaign. This will include an author interview and various targeted press releases to create a buzz about book. As always, anything we place in a press release has to have authors approval.
Targeted Media Campaign – We will contact your local/national radio and newspapers in an attempt to get you featured and interviewed.
Dust jacket synopsis check – A good synopsis should be around 100 to 150 words we will check your synopsis and if we feel that it is necessary we will suggest changes. We will also check for any grammatical errors or typos in your synopsis. This ensures that your book will look as professional as possible.
N.B. Spinetinglers will never change anything without your approval. Remember that for the vast majority of readers – their decision to purchase your book is based on your synopsis.
Author’s Website – Your website will be built by our IT department. This site is designed in conjunction with you. Visitors will be able to purchase your book from your site. A blog is optional but recommended.
Search Engine Registration and Links – This helps to get as many people as possible visiting your website.
Book Promotion on Social Networking Sites i.e. twitter – This helps with a viral marketing campaign.
Continuous One to One Support – Your Personal Publishing Assistant will always be there to guide you through your publishing journey even after the publication of your work. We will continue to assist you for as long as you need us.
Promotional Postcards – Our Graphic designer will design custom postcards and bookmarks, for your own promotional usage.
Marketing Strategy Consultation – Just prior to your book’s release we will ring you to discuss marketing strategy and to determine what direction you have envisioned for your marketing campaign.
PR Advice – At any time, if you want to talk to us about any promotional campaigns we are always just a phone call away.
Promotion on Spinetinglers Website – To help you spread the word of your books release. The book synopsis and competition details will be featured on the Spinetinglers Forum, allowing the author a platform for promotion.
Your Book will be Featured on the Spinetinglers websites – Again, this will help you to create an initial buzz about your book. You will be featured on the front page of our publishing website, as well as in our news sections. Also, if at any time, you want to share any successes with regard to you or your book we will also update the site free of charge.
We always welcome info on our authors. Tell us about your successes and we will pass them on to the “Spiney” community.
