When you decide to publish with Spinetinglers, you will be assigned a Personal Publishing Assistant who will be available by phone and email to guide you through every step of the self publishing process.

• Unlimited access via email and telephone. This does not mean that they are available 24/7, what it does mean is that you can email them at any time and they will respond to you within a couple of hours of commencing the next working day. If you would prefer to speak to your PPA via phone instead of email they will be available during working hours (9-5 GMT Mon-Fri). If you would like them to ring you then you can email and request that and they will get back to you at their earliest opportunity.

• If your PPA is off on leave/due to illness you will have a substitute who will then bring your PPA up to date on their return. Your PPA would then contact you just to check in and let you know that they’re back.

• Your PPA is there to advise you. They have wide experience in the publishing field, and will answer your questions and guide you through what can be a minefield.

• Your PPA will help you determine the RRP of your book and the amount of royalties that you will receive per copy. They will ensure that you understand the exact break down of price make-up so that you know where every penny goes. They will help you ensure that your book is not priced out of the market – this is one of the biggest problems with self-published books.

• Just prior to publication your PPA will initiate the publicity for your book. They will put together, with your help, a targeted press release. They will ensure that your book is included in the Amazon Search Inside Program and help you start a viral marketing campaign.

• After confirming the release of your book your PPA is going to keep you updated on promotion, sales and royalties. They will ensure that you know about any new promotional avenues, competitions, local events, niche marketing etc.

• Even after publishing your PPA is still there for you, be it months or years after your book is released. We will continue to assist you for as long as you need us.

We want every book published by Spinetinglers to be of the highest standard possible. If we feel your book needs an edit we will advise you as to what level of edit is required. Please note, we only offer this service as a guide to our authors – you are under no obligation to use any of our editing services!

For the vast majority of readers their decision to purchase your book is based on your synopsis. A good book synopsis should be around 150 words. We will check your synopsis, and if we feel it necessary we will suggest changes. This ensures that your book will look as professional as possible. Remember, Spinetinglers will never change anything without your approval.

The way your book looks is going to be decided by you. If you have specific requirements as to font type/font size or book size, you can choose whatever you want! However, if you need, or want, advice and guidance your Personal Publishing Assistant will be there for you.

You will receive a formatted PDF download of your book. This will show you exactly how your printed book will be laid out.

This allows you to check your book for last minute changes and corrections.

You will receive 10 copies of each format your book is published in.

Web and store-based booksellers will receive all details of your book, including order information. This means that your book will be available to order in every major bookstore and every major online book retailer, such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble, as well as others.

The Search Inside!TM feature is a revolutionary way for publishers/authors to merchandise their titles on Amazon.co.uk. When customers search for books on Amazon.co.uk, they use the actual words from inside participating books – not just the author, title, and keywords supplied by the publisher – to return the best possible selection of books in their search results. Customers are able to read a number of pages from your book, this is the virtual equivalent of browsing in a book store. Clearly, Search Inside will help you sell more books!

Immediately after publication Spinetinglers will update you as to how many books you have sold, this can be on a weekly or even daily basis. When sales have stabilized this will be via quarterly or monthly reports.

Royalty payments will be paid on a regular basis, monthly or quarterly, whichever your prefer.

You will be able to use this synopsis for promotional purposes.
Promotional Materials – A minimum of 5 copies, of your book promotion synopsis will be posted to you, on headed Spinetinglers paper. You can use these to advertise your book.
Spinetinglers E-zine Promotional Campaign – Your book will be promoted in a dedicated Spinetinglers e-zine. Your e-zine will include:

 

• Author bio.
• Author interview
• Synopsis of your book
• Extract
• Cover images
• Live links to where the book can be purchased. Other links can be included at author’s request eg. other works, social networking sites.
• Competition for Spinetinglers members to win free copies
• E-zine will be featured on Spinetinglers Twitter and Facebook – allowing it to be re-tweeted and shared with non-Spinetinglers members. The e-zine will also be included in the news section of both Spinetinglers sites.

Press Release – Spinetinglers will initiate an online viral marketing campaign. This will include an author interview and targeted press releases to create a buzz about book. As always, anything we place in a press release has to have author’s approval.

Forum Inclusion – The book synopsis and competition details will be featured on the Spinetinglers Forum, allowing the author a platform for promotion.

Amazon Author Page – This is a marketing tool that Amazon have just introduced. Spinetinglers can set this up for you or guide you through the process.
